Once there was a Roman Emperor. Despite his riches, he was terribly lonely. In despair he made a visit to a Priest in a near by temple. The Emperor explained his desperate loneliness to the Priest. The Priest brung out a wolf and said ‘if you take care of this wolf, you will never be lonely again’. The Emperor snatched the wolf and eagerly rushed home. However, once home the wolf began shivering as it was cold. ‘What on earth are you doing, it’s not that cold’ said the Emperor and he ignored the wolf. The next day the wolf began rolling around playfully. ‘Stop being so ridiculous’ and ignored the wolf. The next day the wolf began whimpering with hunger. ‘What on earth do you want’ said the Emperor, ‘I thought you were supposed to give me company and friendship, but you are making my life more miserable’. The next day the wolf died.
The Emperor ran to the temple in tears, ‘how could you let this happen to me’ he said, ‘now I feel worse than ever before’. The Priest shakes his head and says ‘friendship is a gift you must earn. Take this egg, care for it, and you will be rewarded with company’. The Emperor takes the egg home. He spends the next weeks caring for the egg, nurturing it, keeping it warm and protecting it. On the 30th day, just as his doubts begin to foreshow, the egg begins to crack. The Emperor steps back in fear. Out of the egg rises a tamagotchi. A beautiful creature, gleaming with colour and warmth. The creature cares for the Emperor for the rest of his days just as the Emperor cares for the tamagotchi.
Romans now worship the tamagotchi, the god of friendship. Small laririums are kept in peoples homes as a place of Worship. There are ways in which you can interact with the gods spirit. For example, you can leave offerings or play games with it. By caring for the tamagotchi god you will receive fun and company in return.
Using SculptGL I modelled two candles, like the ones found in a Roman shrine

I am pleased with the final result, I think it looks a lot like a lego character.
When zooming in on the character there are definitely parts I can improve upon. The arm shape isn’t quite right, especially at the bottom. The wrists seem to budge out a bit. I will often pull edges in the wrong direction without realising, which is what I think caused this.
I found having a few goes at a shape helped massively. It gives me a chance to figure out the tools and work out what I am doing.
It took me a while to get the angle of the arm right. I realised the arm is slightly pointed away from the character.
I found sculpting the lego mans hand the most difficult. I found it difficult knowing which face to select and often extruded the faces in the complete wrong direction. This was my first go at the hand. When moving the faces I did not use the different axis to drag them. This created a very uneven shape. On my second go I used the axis as a guid. I created a far more even and rounded shape by doing this.
